Giving Back—One Week at a Time
By Tom O'Keefe '64, Director of Planned Giving
Every summer I meet with the incoming students who are receiving financial aid. Among other things, I explain to them that our financial aid program is completely dependent on the generosity of our donors. I make it clear that one day they will be asked to donate to The High so that future generations of Cubs can benefit from the same opportunity.
Today, I would like to profile Braden Quinn '21. I met Braden in the summer of 2016 when he was selected to participate in the Circle of Care financial aid program. He and his father, Jim, were most appreciative because the financial aid would make it possible for Braden to attend The High. Following the meeting, Braden and his dad discussed what Braden could do while still a student since his father has always emphasized the importance of giving back.
Braden decided to make a three-year pledge to support the construction of the Science and Engineering Center. To date, he has not missed a small weekly payment to The High. His appreciation and understanding of our mission are reflected in his continued commitment to this effort.
Braden is a member of the swim team, participates in Focus Hope and plays the tenor sax in the orchestra. He is a Cub who appreciates the opportunities that he has received through our financial aid program.
Thanks for your support, Braden.
It's a great day to be a Cub!
